Reflections from people I have had the privilege of supporting through their cancer journey.
My care has involved a truly integrated multidisciplinary team: an integrative medicine doctor overseeing my NCIM mistletoe treatment to help manage chemotherapy side effects; my GP and local practice nurse supervising my first injections and monitoring my general wellbeing; and an oncologist who has remained open and receptive to conversations about integrative care. At the centre of it all, Bobby Sira has been the lynchpin — my touchstone and constant reference point — bringing everything together as an integrative oncology specialist pharmacist and Ayurveda practitioner.
Two and a half years ago, with a diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer and a comorbidity of heart failure, I entered a destabilising time in my life. I needed to find some balance and was fortunate to find integrative cancer care on the 'Yes to Life' website, and Bobby Sira in particular.
After a partial colectomy, a liver resection and many rounds of chemo, I reached a short spell in NED. Unfortunately, a recent scan showed tumours in my peritoneum and I needed to go back on chemotherapy. I had been thinking about mistletoe therapy for some time and decided now was the time to act. Bobby guided me in the process. I was delighted that my oncologist was not dismissive of my wishes, he listened, was open and supportive, as he has been with all other complementary therapies we have introduced. Support from my GP was also forthcoming and welcome. My local practice nurse oversaw my first self injection. My integrative medicine doctor monitors my response as we look for the optimal dosage of mistletoe treatment, Iscador Quercus in my case.
I find myself at the centre of a great medical team, respectful of each other's approach and working seamlessly towards the same goal. Surrounding that, I have another community of supportive family and friends.
From a bewildering start, when it was easy to lose my sense of self, I now have agency and autonomy in my treatment. I have moved from exhaustion to having energy, from digestive upset to comfort, and from imbalance to balance. In all, I have a sense of being held, of being content and comfortable within myself. I am pulling myself together with the support and knowledge of those around me, and with the seamless integration of standard and complementary treatments, experiencing the best of all worlds.

Embarking on an oncology treatment journey can feel overwhelming, but finding Bobby Sira has been, without exaggeration, life-changing. I cannot recommend him highly enough for anyone looking for truly comprehensive and deeply informed support.
What immediately sets Bobby apart is his extensive knowledge that seamlessly bridges the gap between traditional and modern care. He possesses a deep understanding of Ayurvedic medicine principles alongside the complexities of Western oncology. This dual expertise is invaluable, ensuring his recommendations are always grounded, balanced, and, most importantly, relevant to the treatment being received. It's clear he keeps right up to date, constantly attending conferences and staying ahead of the curve in both fields, which makes him an absolute authority on integrative medicine.
Bobby doesn't just focus on one area, he provides a complete full package of recommendations. His support goes far beyond the basics, proven by his extensive network of colleagues, including top endocrinologists. This collaborative approach means you are getting an analysis that considers every facet of your health, not just the diagnosis.
I particularly valued his practical, actionable guidance, especially the excellent supplement protocols he customizes for pre-operation, post-operation, and throughout ongoing treatments. He takes the guesswork out of optimising your body's resilience when it needs it most.
Beyond the technical expertise, Bobby is genuinely attentive and an incredible human being. He has a remarkable ability to communicate profoundly compassionately and knowledgeably, making him a great sounding board during challenging times. His guidance isn't just informed, it's empowering.
If you are starting your oncology treatment journey and want the very best, holistic, and most informed support available, engaging Bobby Sira is a crucial first step. He is an excellent support and I recommend him without hesitation.

Thank you so much. It is an incredible honour to work with you. You remind me of how to stay motivated and stay on the pulse of everything going on. Thank you for being so open to the journey and to me. I am very proud of what you have achieved and may you continue that with renewed longevity! - PharmAveda (Bobby's reply)
If you are contemplating whether to work with Bobby, my advice would be to stop thinking and start doing, you definitely won't regret it!
I had a cancer diagnosis in March of this year and sought out Bobby as I'd heard him speaking at the World Yoga Festival a few years ago. I can honestly say that I don't think I would have got through the treatment without his advice and help. He is so supportive and knowledgeable and always finds a way of making every situation manageable, be it physical or emotional.
Bobby's help, support and advice allowed me to maintain a normal life and a positive attitude thereby managing stress and better navigating the chemotherapy treatment. I cannot express enough my appreciation and gratitude to Bobby for all his support and patience. I am so very grateful for all the care which he has shown at this stressful and difficult time.

When I received my cancer diagnoses a friend directed me to the 'Yes to Life' website, the UK's integrative cancer care charity. There I found Bobby Sira, an oncology pharmacist and an Ayurvedic practitioner. I couldn't believe my luck as Bobby lived not far away and we were soon meeting up for conversation and support. Chemotherapy is very medicalised and it is easy to lose one's sense of self in the middle of it. I was keen to have some agency around my treatment and in particular to boost my immune system. Bobby gave me this and so much more, gently guiding me in ways that I could integrate some alternative healing into my life. From diet to meditative practice to circadian rhythms and many conversations in between. Bobby's approach has been life changing for me and with his pharmacy background I knew that I could have full confidence in his recommendations. I urge you not to wait if you think you need a helping hand, I can't recommend Bobby highly enough. Bobby offers support for body, mind and spirit that sits seamlessly alongside medical treatment.

In December 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. I was scared, angry and completely overwhelmed. The NHS was unable to offer me any help with my mental health (6 month waiting list to see a psychologist) and I was really struggling to cope. Delays in my treatment added to my anguish. Thank goodness, I found Bobby. He introduced me to breath work, meditation, yoga and a whole new approach to my body, and to my physical and mental health. With his pharmacy skills, he is now seeing me through chemotherapy, devising diet and supplement plans to minimise the side effects and boost my recovery after each cycle. So far, I have had minimal side effects, and I feel empowered and in control of my own treatment. My lifestyle and ability to deal with stress when my cancer treatment is over, are going to be very different to how they were before. I can honestly say Bobby has changed my life, and I cannot thank him enough for all he has done for me. His kindness, enthusiasm and positive approach have been a great support for me during the most difficult time of my life.
