Well-being is a skill that Ayurveda can teach you. |
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine that has stood the test of time, and is still taught in Sanskrit.
It teaches you how to maintain good health and mental clarity. It uses a wide range of techniques for diagnosing and treating illness, always aiming to bring you back to your natural balance. Equally it will help guide you to knowing what is your 'genetic' make up and how the world around you affects that on a daily basis. Ayurveda explains that your body is one of a kind and no other body is capable of responding the same way as yours. Medicine, food, drink, thought or emotion - all have their unique effect on your constitution. Learn how to maintain your health and discover the root cause of your ailment, in order to return you to your optimal wellbeing. The main tenets of Ayurvedic medicine are:
|
Ayurveda works most powerfully when used alongside its sister science of Yoga. The former guides you to understanding your body and its mechanisms, while the latter works to maintain mental and emotional wellbeing.
|
In totality you will learn to see the importance of your health in rhythm with nature and society around you. It takes into account the socio-economic and environmental status surrounding your life, since these have a deep impact on your physical and mental health.
Be empowered to write your own Prescription.
Working together with honesty and compassion, you will discover the ability to write your own prescription and make the choices that you will start to intuitively understand are good for you. I believe that for successful and effective treatment you need to commit to wanting to change for the long term, and be open to understand how the perceptions of our mind are as important as any medicine that may be necessary. |
"Your health, mindset & choices are your absolute responisbility. |
Ayurvedic medicine believes and demonstrates that health problems only happen when your body, mind and spirit are out of balance.
The Elements Of Life

Their balance in you is relative to their balance in the environment, and can help you understand your body type or constitution.

I will assess your constitution which is made up of 3 bioenergies that exists harmoniously when in perfect health. Only when they are imbalanced do they become erroneous in our body, and then they are known as doshas. These are:
These are variable in each tissue and organ, and from assessing your overall health I aim to map the imbalanced movement to bring it back to balance and eliminate unnecessary build up of toxins or waste. The 3 doshas allow your body systems and organs to work in harmony; their correct balance brings health and vitality by helping to:

The doshas help create your reciprocal relationship with the environment and the universe, and this includes your relationship with food and medicines as well as nature and the people around you. |
The Energies of the Mind and Universe
Three psychic or universal energy forces known as sattva, rajas and tamas exist in all creation and are responsible for creation itself. They form a deeper connection with your physical and spiritual being, and their interplay and constant fluctuation determines your personality type, as well as how your nervous system functions and perceives the environment. Two of them can be termed as 'doshas' of the mind - rajas and tamas, since they are easily disrupted. The third psychic energy sattva is a pure energy and is not regarded as a dosha, since it cannot be in error in the mind or the universe, but is the stabilising and nurturing force.
